Hey Kia just heard u made Lebron player of the month....Cleveland hates you!!!

Finally, Miz’s popular blog ‘Miz on Music‘ has returned! He talks about the music that reminds him of his college days and also digs into some British music (I am determined to get Mike to start using the word MizBrits – it’s catchy!) Check out the snippet below and click the link to view the whole blog.

After some time off, Miz on Music is back. Last night I was at a pub with a digital jukebox (do they even have record playing jukeboxes anymore?) which had an incredible selection of music: metal, rock, hip hop, R&B, ’80s, ’90s – you name it – even bluegrass. I found songs I haven’t heard since college. Yes, I did go to college, Miami University of Ohio, thank you very much.

Does anyone else have songs that instantly remind you of high school or college? Well “That Was a Crazy Game of Poker” by Of A Revolution (O.A.R.) was my college song. This was not by choice. Literally anytime I was walking with friends to go Uptown (where the bars and restaurants are), we’d hear that song blasting out of cars, dorms and frat houses. Then once we got to the watering hole of our choice, it’d be playing nonstop there as well.

O.A.R., Dave Matthews and Barenaked Ladies were the only bands being played at my college, and probably every college at the time. They had good, catchy songs, but they were played so much that I grew tired of them quickly. My saviors were CDs (there was no iTunes back then, kiddies) like Linkin Park’s Hybrid Theory and Disturbed’s Down With The Sickness, which were just getting popular in the rock/metal world. In college, not so much.

Hello Mizfits and Miztakes, it’s been awhile since I last wrote a “Miz on Music” but you must understand I am the WWE Champion. And as the “Most Must-See Champion in WWE history” I am non-stop all day everyday. Lucky for you I’m a great multi-tasker so without further ado let’s talk music. ..

Last week I finally had time to relax so I caught up on old DVRed Late Night w/ Jimmy Fallon episodes. As I was looking at who his guests were I noticed the name Greyson Chance. Wow, the kid I saw on YouTube performing his rendition of “Paparazzi” by Lady Gaga at his school’s talent show a year ago (if you haven’t seen it check it out) was performing live for the first time on late night. Would this kid crash and burn like Christina Aguilera singing the National Anthem, be average like the Black Eyed Peas at half time, or kill it like The Green Bay Packers? Let’s just say this kid made a cheesehead out of me. In my humble opinion, he had the best live performance I’ve seen on Fallon and I’ve seen a lot. He’s got incredible control of his voice with amazing stage presence – did I mention HE’S A KID.

Now I’m sounding like an American Idol judge, and if I was one, I’d send him to Hollywood. This kid isn’t cheesy like Bieber which may be a good or bad thing. Hopefully he has the right team behind him and if he does he’s got the talent to be a success. I’ve been listening to his single “Waiting Outside the Lines” non-stop and I’m starting to feel like Zack Ryder (for those that don’t know Zack has Bieber Fever) just as long as I don’t tape myself singing to it then I will be okay.

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s electrifying return to the ring continues to reverberate outside of the WWE. The latest example? Blogger Adam Rank at NFL.com heaps praise on The Great One and lays out the case that no current NFL player possesses quite the charisma and credentials of the host of WrestleMania XXVII.

While at a loss for a current NFL player to compare to The Rock, Rank does, however, feel other WWE Superstars warrant such a comparison. For example, Rank feels that wide receiver Chad Ochocinco and his oft-empty boasts are reminiscent of WWE Champion The Miz?

6. Ochocinco/The MizThe Miz goes by a goofy nickname and spends most of his time telling people how awesome he is instead of actually proving it. Yeah, I would say that fits. And really, can’t you see 85 wearing this shirt? Though by always taking a backseat to T.O., he might be more Alex Riley.

The new year has arrived and while 2010 was an incredible year for me 2011 will be even better. This entire year the WWE Championship will stay where it belongs – around the waist of the Most Must SEE WWE Champion in the history of this company, The Miz.

You probably just rolled your eyes like most people do when I make a statement that’s hard to achieve … like when I told everyone I’d make the Real World … like when I said I was going to get a contract with WWE … like when I said I would be United States Champion then Unified Tag Team Champion then win Money in the Bank then cash it in to be WWE Champion. So while you’re rolling your eyes I’m basically doing what I always do – tell you something in which you don’t believe can be done then actually do it. I’m that Awesome! It’s not just a catchphrase.

Now that I got that off my chest for this Miz on Music I wanted to give credit where credit is due and no, I’m not going to talk about myself the entire blog even though I deserve the most credit in 2010. I’m actually giving it to the top 10 bands I listened to on my iPod this year. It’s interesting looking back on all the music I deafened my ears with because normally it’s all metal but not this year. I don’t know if I’m getting older or softer or if the music is just so catchy that I can’t help listening and liking it.

Either way, I don’t care and I’m confident enough to use Ke$ha as workout music. So if you see me doing squats with hella weight I may just be listening to “We are who we are.” So without further ado here are my top 10 artists of 2010.

10. Mushroomhead – Just made it this year due to me going to their concert around Thanksgiving. It was great going with six of my friends at Peabodies Downunder in Cleveland. Reminded me of the good old days when we’d go to concerts all the time, jump around in the mosh pit and have a blast. I have to admit the concert was different this time around and I couldn’t pinpoint why, until J Mann came onstage and sang “Sun Doesn’t Rise.” It’s so weird until that moment I was kind of just listening rather then being in the mosh pit. I literally thought I was over all that stuff while my friends were all still going nuts. But when J Mann came out and started singing that’s what was missing. It got me so into the concert. I finally figured out what the fans of Van Halen felt like when Sammy Hagar replaced David Lee Roth. Granted, Waylon is a great singer and performer, I guess I’m just used to J Mann and he makes it an entirely different experience.

With all due respect to the populous school of MTV’s “Real World” alums, perhaps, nobody has used the odd celebrity attached to former cast members as successfully as Michael Mizanin, aka “The Miz” from “Real World Back to New York.” The guy we used to watch drunk-wrestling with his shirt off every other episode of “Real World/Road Rules Challenge” recently became the WWE world champion.

Mike came up with the nickname and created the character for The Miz on “Real World” back in 2001 (“I’m kind of an annoying guy,” he told Page 2. “But, gradually people started enjoying me because I created this character, The Miz. After a while, people started to like the Miz more than they liked Mike”). And now, less than 10 years later, The Miz is a WWE superstar.

During those 10 years, The Miz dropped out of college to go to L.A. and take Ultimate Pro Wrestling training, toured the independent wrestling circuit with Deep South Wrestling and Ohio Valley Wrestling, perfected his moves like the Mizard of Oz and Reality Check and finished as a runner-up on WWE’s “Tough Enough” competition. When WWE finally came calling, it was with an offer to be a host (“I wanted to be Hulk Hogan and they told me they wanted me to be WWE’s Ryan Seacrest”).

He was called up after six months of hosting, but still had more dues to pay. He said his peers kicked him out of WWE locker rooms for six months for, get this, eating a piece of chicken. One time he had to use the public arena bathroom in full costume.

“Not to just the audience, but to the guys in the locker room, I was the annoying jerk that wasn’t supposed to be there,” he recalls. “I was the reality schmuck that got a contract.”

Within two years, though, The Miz went from WWE “Smackdown” to “ECW” to “Raw” and then , on July 18, he won a “Money in the Bank” ladder match to win a contract for a WWE Championship match. He cashed it in months later beating Randy Orton for title. Now he’s at the point where folks are recognizing him more as The Miz from WWE than Mike from “Real World.”

Now that The Miz has the belt, the dude is planning big things.

“When fans think WWE, I don’t want them to think Hulk Hogan or The Rock or Stone Cold Steve Austin or John Cena — I want them to think of The Miz,” he said. “I want to be on every show. When we need a guy to do Conan or Jimmy Kimmel, I want them to call me. I wanna be on the cover of all the video games. I want it all.”
